This week it was my turn to visit with my parents. One of the fun activities my sister and niece had planned was a row boat ride across Chadwick Lake to see the swans. Well, rowing that boat was a lot harder than I remember. And I still have the blisters to prove it! Here's my sister Gerri taking a turn at the oars while I sit back and the scenery.
I did have to wonder if those little (and very old) life jackets would actually save us in a spill, or if they were just providing a false sense of security. Kind of like some of the beliefs we have... I also had to marvel a bit that Alan Tutt is sharing his Choose to Believe Workshop with us at the same time we're exploring our beliefs about healing. I took this course back in April and was impressed by how comprehensive it is. Most people would say, and mean, that of course they want to get well, and the sooner the better. Consciously this may be true. But on a deeper level, it's probably far from the truth. Sometimes there are compelling reasons to stay ill. You may even be aware of some of them. Chances are though, that your subconscious mind is holding on to some reason that it isn't safe, or in your best interest to get better.
