I guess I don't fit the image of a grandmother. To my mother, I'm still her little girl. I have to admit I still have trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that my 'babies' are now parents. Where does the time go?
Here's our newest family member- Sawyer James at seven weeks old. He was a carbon copy of my husband (his grandfather)when he was born. It'll be interesting to see who he looks like next month. He's changed so much already!
Just a heads up- I tried something a little different this time and posted the feature article on hubpages instead of the blog. Please do comment on the article, I'd love to hear what you think. Featured Article - Limiting Belief #3: I Need Help to Get WellI recently heard Dr. Lipton say that most of us hold the belief that we need a doctor to get well. Surely I thought I was not one of those people until listened further. He asked if you ever got better once you scheduled your appointment or were on your way. Yes, I remembered a few times when my lasting symptoms mysteriously disappeared before seeing the doctor, although not in recent years. Were you born in a hospital? Did you start seeing a doctor before you were even born? Did you take pills, shots or remedies because you "needed them" to get well? Yes again. Okay, I have to admit that somewhere in my subconscious mind I hold the belief that medical care is needed to get well. We've been conditioned to believe we have to (finish reading on hub)
Quick Health Tip - Choose Toxin-free Personal Care ProductsDaily use of ordinary personal care products like shampoo, make up, toothpaste and fragrances can expose you to thousands of chemicals. They are easily absorbed through your skin, especially when showering, since hot water opens your pores. Because you lack the means to break many of these chemicals down, and they are absorbed right into the blood stream, this toxic load builds up in your body. These toxins can become a significant contributing factor in health problems as surprisingly large amounts build up in your body over time. They lead to problems like auto-immune diseases and cancer, especially if your diet and exercise habits aren't good. To limit this exposure and safeguard your health, it's important to avoid products with sodium lauryl sulfate (found in most shampoos) and other chemicals. Purchase products with ingredients you recognize and can read the names of. Buy fragrance-free products unless they are scented with natural essential oils only. You may even want to make some of your own personal care products using healthful natural ingredients like shea butter, olive oil and liquid castile soap.
