Medication Side Effects

by Carol

Hi Val,

If you can help me it would be good. I had a heart attack last August. I had 4 stents and the medication I'm on six tablets a day but the side effects are starting to affect me.

I used to have good concentration and a good memory too. I've been told I will die if I don't take my medication. If there is an alternative I would do it.

Ive had healings from friends.

Hi Carol,

Sorry to hear about your heart attack. I'm so happy you made it! Those four stents are an example of the wonders of modern medicine.

I can't advise you about medications, and don't know any of your details, but here are some general thoughts that may help you.

Perhaps you can discuss with your doctors about adjusting the doses or trying a different drug if you know which one is causing the side effects.

Find out which ones are absolutely necessary and which ones are preventive. Educate yourself thoroughly about each medication. Make decisions together with your doctor based on what's best for you, not fear.

If you are taking cholesterol medication, be sure you also take ubiquinol. This is protocol in some countries and considered medical malpractice if not prescribed. Statins cause side effects and deplete much needed coenzyme Q10.

Check your cholesterol numbers and make sure you aren't taking more than you need for healthy cholesterol ratios. (They had my mom - diabetes- on lipitor because it's "protocol" even though her cholesterol was only 105 and sugars were well controlled. - I intervened)

A healthy, lower carb diet and appropriate exercise can help a lot with this and perhaps the side effects as well.

Research to see if your drugs deplete certain nutrients. This can cause unpleasant side effects and future health issues. If they do you may want to supplement those.

Talk to your doc about taking heart healthy supplements like krill or fish oil. Hawthorn is also excellent for the heart with long term use. Magnesium is vital.

Try EFT, or an energy balancing method like touch for health to balance you to your medications.

I know some of these problems are discouraging, but you have a new lease on life. Celebrate that and make it the best part of your life.

I hope some of these suggestions help you.

Best of luck. Val
