Some people achieve great results with subconscious mind training techniques. Others notice no change or feel even worse. It is relatively simple to change your programming when you know how to use the power of the subconscious mind to your advantage. A major contributor to this work was Dr. Joseph Murphy. His practice and written works regarding the power of the subconscious mind has helped many people heal from physical and mental ills. He taught how to achieve our desires rather than staying subject to old programming, most of which was installed before five years of age. In his bestselling book, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, Dr. Murphy states, ...your habitual thinking and imagery mold, fashion and create your destiny. For as a person thinketh in his subconscious mind, so he is.
How to Harness Subconscious Mind Power
In his book, Dr. Murphy spoke of "scientific prayer". He introduced several ways to get the power of the subconscious mind working for you. Dr. Murphy attributed to the subconscious mind many of the functions now considered part of the superconscious mind. Regardless, of what you call it, the outcome is the same. The superconscious mind is accessed by way of the subconscious mind. Your intention and consistency is more important than the terms you use to describe the processes and levels of mind, especially since much of what people think they know about them is still theory. Essential to many techniques is this first step of entering a drowsy, relaxed, meditative state. You enter a drowsy, relaxed, meditative state. This slows your brain waves. Right before sleep and immediately upon awakening, your brain waves are at theta level. When morning dreams seem to mix with reality, that's theta. The subconscious is open to suggestion with little conscious interference. People under deep hypnosis go to the theta level. So do experienced meditators. Some may access delta waves. Delta is the deep sleep level of mind. It's said that if you can stay awake while your brain waves are at the delta level you can put the power of subconscious mind to deliberately affect not only your own programming, but the universal consciousness as well. While in this state, repeat your affirmation or statements several times throughout the day for a number of days or weeks. Have confidence and add emotion. Believe as if they are already true. Using creative visualization to vividly imagine the outcome as if it is real, along with repetition and emotion implant the suggestion and use the power of subconscious mind to achieve conscious desires. To this formula add behaving as if your affirmation is truth. Take at least a small action step every day. All this congruent thought and action will help your subconscious accept it as truth. When you create a vibrational match to the beliefs stored in the subconscious it will work to attract what you need to help you fulfill your desires. One caveat: Notice carefully if you have negative thoughts or feelings attached to your positive statements. You can change your programming, but you can't do it by bullying the subconcious mind into submission. Pounding it with affirmations that you don't believe will probably only make things worse. Your subconscious mind will hear the affirmation, but it will also hear the "tail-ender", that the conscious mind tacks on to the end of your affirmation. The tail-ender is the truth statement that follows on the heels of an affirmation. For example, you may be pronouncing that you are rich and famous with all the gusto you can muster, but if your real belief is that you'll never amount to a hill of beans, then that is what the subconscious will respond to and draw to you. It already accepts this as truth and accepts that you are reinforcing this belief. A variety of techniques will help you neutralize these negative affirmations. My favorites are the Energy psychology and meridian tappping techniques. When the negative programming is erased, then repeating positive affirmations can be very powerful. Do this first.
