Referral Opportunity - $10 for you, $10 for me

If you like to order your natural goods on-line and are looking for a quality, less expensive place to purchase, I would suggest vitacost.com

I have happily ordered many of my supplements, natural packaged foods, and nontoxic household and personal products from them for years. They carry name brand products, have some of the best prices around, and ship quickly without incident.

Recently I learned of their Refer a Friend Program. This program is an easy win-win for everybody! Basically, when you refer a first-time customer, s/he gets a $10 coupon to use towards her/his first $30 or more purchase (within 60 days), and so do you.

As a referrer, there is no limit to how many $10 coupons you can earn. As a first-time customer, you must use a referral link to get your new customer $10 coupon. After that, refer as many family and friends as you like. You get a $10 coupon after they sign up and make a $30 purchase.

Wellness Tips from our Facebook Page

A few times a week, I update the Holistic MindBody Healing page with important, interesting and/or inspiring posts related to mind, body and spirit wellness. These posts include quotes, thoughts, infographics, facts, news and videos from a variety of sources.

For this issue, I thought it would be fun for you non-facebookers to get a taste of what is posted on the HMBH page (and a review for the rest of us!). Here are five of the most popular posts.

1-When you feel inspired to do something you’ve been putting off, take action within five seconds. If you don’t, your brain (which prefers routine and status quo, not change) will squash your impulse to do it. (source: Daily Burst of Energy)

2-Just two minutes of exercise makes you feel good because it raises your heart rate and increases production of neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine, dopamine and serotonin. These are the very same substances increased by antidepressants.

3-Do you want to train your brain to keep up the good habits you do have and feel good about it?

At the end of the day, write down three things you did well and explain why. This exercise is so powerful that it has the ability to improve the functioning of your frontal lobe, which is the executive decision-making area of your brain. When people do this exercise for just one week, their self-esteem and satisfaction in life continue to GROW for the next 3 months and remain consistent for 6 months! (source: PraxisNow)

4-Have you heard that it is more blessed to give than to receive? Turns out there's more to it than just how happy you feel. Michael Poulin's (University of Buffalo) study of 846 people showed that being helped by others during a stressful time decreased mortality. But here's the kicker - those doing the helping had the lowest mortality rate of all.

5-Do you think you may have a food sensitivity? Do you have unexplained mind or body symptoms? Food sensitivities can be the culprit. Here's a little trick to find out if you are intolerant to a food. Take your pulse before and after you eat the suspected food, says Ellen Cutler, MD, author of The Food Allergy Cure (Three Rivers). If your pulse is either noticeably faster and more forceful or slower and weaker, then you are almost certainly sensitive to that food.

Book Launch - The Tapping Solution

Tapping expert, Nick Ortner, has just released his new book, published by Hay House Publishing, called “The Tapping Solution” a Revolutionary System for Stress Free Living.

This new book will take you step-by-step, using both beginner and advanced tapping techniques, through a transformative process designed to improve your life by leaps and bounds.

During the launch period for his new book, Nick is giving away some amazing bonuses for anybody who picks up the book online and some even more ridiculous bonuses for those that actually go into a book store to pick it up (too bad I don't have any bookstores around here!)

Learn more about the book and bonuses here

The book comes highly recommended by a number of experts who were given the opportunity to read it before its release.

In his typical generous fashion, Nick is donating 100% of his royalties from sales of the book right now to the Tapping Solution for Newtown: Stress and Trauma Relief Project, helping those most affected by the December 14th school shooting (Nick actually lives in Newtown, CT).
