Happy New Year! We in the 'North Country" ended 2013 and began 2014 with an ice storm complete with fallen tree limbs and power outages followed by sub-zero temperatures. I sure was glad we were on a break from school so I could stay in!

It's common practice for people to start a new year with a resolution for improving their lives in some ways. Usually these resolutions last a few weeks before they are forgotten. If you'd like to make positive changes throughout the year that you can keep in place for your lifetime (with minimal effort), I invite you to resolve to participate in the wellness challenge this year at whatever level you are comfortable.

Wellness Challenge 2014

It's back! If you were with us a two years ago, you may remember the Wellness Challenge. Every month, I suggest important, yet simple ways to make changes that help you get, and stay, healthier in the short and long-term. Best of all, many of these shifts do not require much thought once they are in place and often have positive effects for you, your family, and even our planet. They often involve substituting what is healthier for what is not, in mind, body and/or spirit. In the first few months, we will focus on limiting health damaging toxins that sneak their way into our bodies.

This year, the challenges are posted in Bellesprit magazine and on that site instead of on my blog so more folks have the opportunity to participate. Do leave a comment under the article when you accept a challenge and update us on your progress. Please share with your friends so they can get healthier, too.

Ultimate You Mindfest
