Happy February!

I am excited to announce not one, but two awesome events beginning soon. The 8th annual Tapping World Summit is rolling out its pre-event video interviews as we speak and Learning Strategies is sharing its Aura Seeing Fest with you starting next week.

February is the month of love (Happy Valentine's Day!) and heart health, so I have some info to share with you about that, too. Along with that theme is a book review about when love goes awry, not only to the detriment of the people involved, but also the pets.

So without further ado...

The Healing Power of Love

The kind of love associated with Valentine's Day is romantic love. It makes our hearts go pitter-patter and when going well puts a huge smile on our faces. Romantic love may make the world go round, so to speak, but it is genuine, unconditional love that heals.

Authentic love is so much more than an emotion. It is a commitment and a deep caring. It is patient, kind, compassionate, and forgiving. It's power soothes and heals body and soul. Deep within, this is the love we need and crave. It gives us roots and wings to be our best selves.

Taking Care of Your Heart

The 2004 INTERHEART study, which looked at heart disease risk factors in over 50 countries around the world, found that 90 percent of heart disease cases are completely preventable by modifying diet and lifestyle factors.

Those factors are:
*A healthy diet
*Being physically active (walking/bicycling ≥40 min/day and exercising ≥1 h/week)
*Healthy waist circumference (waist circumference <95 cm or 37.4 inches for middle-aged and older men)
*Moderate alcohol consumption (10 to 30 g/day)
*No smoking

When Pets Come Between Partners

You don't have to be a pet guardian to benefit from the information in this book. Dr. Joel Gavriele-Gold may have written this book specifically for people experiencing difficulties with a significant other because the pet is not wanted in the relationship, but the psychological aspects it explores are relevant in any relationship.

Because relationship issues including jealousy are a primary reason pets are relinquished to shelters or a veterinarian, I have not only reviewed the book, but written a summary of some of its main ideas. You will probably see yourself, or more likely lots of someones you know in the explanations of psychological defenses. Read the book review here.

The summary will be published next week, so check back on the blog for that enlightening article with some of the information shared in the book. And if you've been hearing (or saying), "It's me or Fido", or "It's me or your mother" or It's me or your kids", this book will shed light on what (or who) may be the problem and how to heal it at its root.

Aura Seeing Fest

As a healer, I really perked up when I saw the announcement for the aura seeing fest put on by our friends at Learning Strategies (the same folks that host the Spring Forest Qigong Fest). Seeing auras is something I've wanted to do for some time. I can see a little, but need to see a whole lot more if I want it to guide healing or show me someone's nature.

Auras can tell you a lot about yourself and about another person because it reflects all aspects of body and mind. They can appear as a rainbow of colors around all living things, including people. They give you great insight into one's body and mind and help you respond better to life situations.

Seeing auras involves a combination of training your eyes to see subtle energy and opening your third eye, located in the partially dormant pineal gland in the center of the brain behind your eyes.

As you go through the Aura Seeing Fest, you will be "gazing" at various charts to train your eyes. These charts will help you build depth of field in your vision, enhance dexterity with your eyes, recognize contrast between fields of energy, and distinguish between subtle colors of energy. You will also be gazing at specific diagrams that accelerate the movement of Qi—or energy—in the energy centers of your body to open your "third eye" and facilitate your ability to see auras.)

You will experience meditations that scour debris from your auric field, helping you see through your field so you can better see the auras of others. These meditations can also enhance your everyday activities and your state of health. By the end of the week, you will have the experience of seeing auras.

The folks at Learning Strategies and I are thrilled to make this free opportunity available to you beginning Monday, February 15. You will be able to coax your brain into perceiving and processing a wider spectrum of these energetic vibrations, so you can see into the essence of whatever you are looking at—a person, your pet, a plant, a treasured memento, or something as basic as a chair.
